Sinopsis/Synopsis
The biography of the most read writer of Costa Rica, who was accused of committing a crime in the most important church of his country, was condemned to solitary confinement in the dark for three years, and seventeen more on an island that he baptized as The Island of Lonely Men, a place with no hope or compassion. A documentary in José León Sánchez´ own voice, that tells the story of the man who was awarded an honorary Ph.D. by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and is known in his country as The Monster of the Basilica.
