Sinopsis/Synopsis
In the summer of 2006, a popular non-violent uprising exploded in the state of Oaxaca, in southeastern Mexico. Some compare it to the Paris Commune, while other call it the first Latin American revolution of the twenty-first century. But it was the use the people made of the media that truly made history in Oaxaca. This project captures an unprecedented phenomenon that happened when tens of thousands of teachers, housewives, indigenous people, small farmers and students took over 14 radio stations and a television channel, using them to organize, mobilize and, above all, defend their fight for social, cultural and economic justice.
