Sinopsis/Synopsis
El 11 de octubre de 2009 el presidente Felipe Calderón decretó la
extinción de la Compañía de Luz y Fuerza del Centro: 44 mil
trabajadores quedaron sin empleo. En Necaxa, Puebla, la
hidroeléctrica mantenía al 90% de la población; tras su cierre, el
pueblo quedó golpeado en su economía y se mantiene en
resistencia.
On October 11, 2009, President Felipe Calderon decreed the closing of the Compañia de Luz y Fuerza del Centro (the Central Mexican electric company): 44 thousand workers were left without a job. In Necaxa, Puebla, the hydroelectric company supported 90% of the population; after its closure, the town´s economy was hard hit, and it is still resisting.
