Camilo Nu, un talentoso guitarrista mexicano, se embarca en un viaje para encontrar los orígenes del son jarocho, la música tradicional de Veracruz, música con influencias españolas y africanas. Camilo viaja por el sur de España y el norte de África para colaborar musicalmente con artistas de géneros locales, descubrir qué similitudes existen. A lo largo del viaje, Camilo es confrontado por su propia herencia africana por parte de su padre ausente. Y así el viaje de Camilo cobra otro significado, una vez que se adentra en las raíces africanas del son jarocho.

Camilo Nu, a talented Mexican guitarist, embarks on a journey to find the origins of the traditional music of Veracruz know as son jarocho, a music that has been recognized as having Spanish and African influences. Camilo travels through Southern Spain and North Africa to collaborate with artists of local genres in order to discover what similarities still exist, and as his journey gets further from home he is unexpectedly confronted with his own fragmented African identity the inherited through his absent father. Camilo´s journey takes on a whole new meaning as he travels deep into the African roots of Son Jarocho.
