Documental histórico biográfico. La guía narrativa y columna vertebral es el material inédito filmado en 1949 y producido por tres grandes artistas de la época: Diego Rivera, Gabriel Figueroa y Manuel Álvarez Bravo. A través de estas imágenes, que retratan episodios de la vida de dichos maestros, se busca reproducir el vínculo entre realidad, artista y obra plástica, así como la correlación e influencias mutuas. A la par de ello se abordan temas como el nacionalismo en el arte y su vinculación con la estética de estos tres grandes artistas al referir el contexto histórico en el que el material fue filmado, tanto en lo político como en lo artístico, y reflexionar acerca de ello desde la perspectiva de artistas e intelectuales de la época actual.

A historical/biographical documentary. The narrative thread and backbone of the documentary is the never before seen material filmed in 1949 and produced by three of the greatest Mexican public figures of the time: Diego Rivera, Gabriel Figueroa and Manuel Alvarez Bravo. Depicting episodes in the life of Master Rivera, Figueroa and Alvarez Bravo. Through these images we attempt to reproduce the ties between reality, the artist and the graphic work, as well as the mutual correlations and influences among them. Parallel to this, the film deals with nationalism in art and its link to the esthetics of these three great artists within the historical framework of the material on both the political and artistic level, in regard to the artistic and intellectual point of view in the modern era.
