Melodrama trágico que cuenta la vida de Miranda Sámano, misma que cambia radicalmente cuando descubre en la tumba de Amalia Coronado de Sámano, su antepasado, el diario escrito de esta última, sin el cadáver correspondiente. La historia da cuenta de cómo los Sámano fueron expulsados de Texas en el siglo XIX y despojados de sus propiedades. En contra de la voluntad de su padre, Miranda decide ir a San Antonio para reencontrarse con sus orígenes y en esa búsqueda encuentra el amor en Matt Crossman, sin imaginarse que él es el poseedor de Las Acequias, la mítica propiedad de los Sámano. Cuando lo descubre, Miranda supera su conmoción para indagar por qué Matt posee la hacienda y, cuando finalmente lo descubre por boca de él mismo, el horror que siente es insuperable, pues Matt es descendiente del Coronel que no sólo expulsó a los Sámano de Texas, sino que cometió una traición en contra de Amalia, traición que el mismo Matt estaba dispuesto a perpetrar en contra de Miranda.

Melodrama which tells the tragic life of Miranda Samano, same radically changes when she discovers her ancestor’s (Amalia Coronado Samano) diary in the tomb, but without the corpse. The story gives tells of how the Samano were driven from Texas in the nineteenth century and stripped of their property. Against her father’s will, Miranda decides to go to San Antonio to find her origins and in this quest finds romance with Matt Crossman, she never imagined that he is the owner of Las Acequias, the mythical Samano property. Miranda is shocked when she finds out Matt owns the hacienda, and when she finally hears him say he is the owner she feels horror and insurmountable shock, since Matt is a descendant of the Colonel who expelled the Samano from Texas, and committed treason against Amalia, history repeats itself when Matt is willing to perpetrate the same treason against Miranda. The tragic end of Matt and Miranda is the legacy that Camila, Miranda’s sister receives, as an experience she lives while building a better future for herself.
