Chile, 1973. Based on the life of Swedish ambassador Harald Edelstam and his struggle to help Chilean refugees. During the terror instigated by the coup d´etat, Edelstam fights for human rights, justice, and dignity. What motivated him? What price did he have to pay for getting involved? Tormented by his past, we follow the journey of a man desperate to find love once again. While saving thousands of people oppressed by the new regime, Edelstam finds himself, as well as his true love, Consuelo. Fate puts him to the test when he has to try to save her life, a challenge that at times seems nearly impossible to achieve. Film about a man that changed the face of an entire nation.
